Established in 1980, the Tsinghua Journal of Education was initially named as Education Research Communication and was renamed Tsinghua Journal of Education in 1986.A total of 166 issues have been released since its establishment, and over 3,100 papers have been published.The journal is nationally influential and is a core journal belonging to Guide to Chinese Core Journals, a CSSCI source journal and a journal sponsored by the social science fund.

With the purpose of “letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend” and integrating theory with practice, Tsinghua Journal of Education strives to show the latest academic achievements at home and abroad and keep abreast of the international academic development today. On top of giving full play to Tsinghua University’s strengths in the research on science and engineering, it endeavors to carry forward the university’s fine tradition in humanities and social sciences. With the philosophy of “combining history with modernity and the East and the West”, it supports Chinese educational reform and development and makes contribution to the prosperity of educational science. It mainly covers the academic papers with new views, materials and methods in terms of educational thinking and theory, educational reform and development, educational economy and management, educational policy and law, international and comparative education, and Chinese and foreign history of education, etc.
