Qiao Weifeng received his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University and the University Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award in June 2016. He currently works as an associate professor of research at the Institute of Education at Tsinghua University and the International Center for Engineering Education under the auspices of UNESCO (ICEE). His research interests focus on engineering education and educational evaluation.

He conducted 4 research projects and participated in 3 key research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Chinese Academy of Engineering as head of sub-projects. He substantively contributed to 20 other international, national or provincial-level projects. He co-authored 3 books and published 20 journal papers. In 2020, he received the Second Prize from the Ministry of Education for Outstanding Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Higher Education Institutions.

He has learning and research experiences in mechanical engineering, civil law, and educational management which benefits his multidisciplinary research. He submitted more than 20 policy consulting report to government for engineering education improvement. He is a core team member of UNESCO engineering report II, taskforce member of the IEA Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies Review, Governing Board member of the Beijing Institute of Engineers (BIE), and a CPD Committee member of the China Society of Engineers (CSE).

In recent years, his research topics focused on data-intensive educational assessment, educational management change in digitalization transformation, engineering education for sustainability, education model in key engineering fields, program accreditation, and engineering competency assessment.
