报告题目:Students Monitoring and Managing their Own Learning: The E-Portfolio Initiative in the Hong Kong Institute of Education

报告简介:

This one-hour session discusses the development and implementation of the e-portfolio initiative in the Hong Kong Institute of Education that aims to empower students to monitor and manage their own learning trajectories as they progress through four or five years of undergraduate studies. It highlights the promising practices of supporting students to reflect upon their learning, identify learning gaps based on their self-assessment of 21st century competencies, and plan for their own learning needs. It also explains how students may use the e-portfolio as a showcase of their learning journey in the Institute and articulate the competencies that they have developed in the journey.

Based on the lessons learned from the pilot studies that include establishing buy-in from staff and students, developing support resources and system, and re-thinking and re-designing assessment tasks, this session shares with participants the key components that support the scaling up of the e-portfolio initiative in the Institute. The components include: professional learning sessions and walk-in clinics for students and staff, partnerships with staff to co-develop the assessment tasks and learning activities, senior management buy-in of the initiative for the core courses, support resources for self-learning, and ongoing evaluation of the implementation to refine the process.

报告人简介:

林质彬教授于英国布里斯托大学获得教育学博士学位。现为香港教育学院课程与教学系教授暨教学科技中心总监。林教授在新加坡、澳大利亚和香港有近20年的教学经验,致力于信息技术在教学当中的应用,课程与创新,和教育系统的质量监控。在美国国际开发总署、世界银行、联合国教科文组织等10余个国际组织任职。担任Asia Pacific Education Review副主编,British Journal of Educational Technology等多家国际知名杂志的编委会成员。发表著作、期刊论文等百余篇。受清华大学海外学者邀请支持计划项目资助,现在教育技术研究所作短期访学。
